The request

OnlyRoses asked Perissology to deliver a floral basket to a client in central London. The arrangement’s full dimensions and handling requirements became clear at collection: it was large and heavy enough to require a two-person lift.

Adapting the transport

Darius and Caitlin assessed the space needed to move the basket while preserving its presentation. They arranged a London black cab, whose spacious passenger compartment could accommodate the arrangement.

They loaded the basket together and used bungee cords and strapping to help keep it in place during the journey.

Personal oversight throughout the journey

Caitlin travelled in the cab alongside the flowers. She liaised with the driver about careful driving and monitored the basket to help prevent movement or tipping. Darius travelled separately in Perissology’s vehicle to the delivery location.

The change of vehicle allowed the collection to proceed while retaining Perissology’s personal involvement. The arrangement remained accompanied during transport, with both Darius and Caitlin involved in the final delivery.

The outcome

The basket was delivered without issues, and the client was delighted. Perissology adapted to the size and weight of the arrangement, coordinated an alternative vehicle and followed the request through to handover.

For this delivery, care meant recognising what the arrangement needed at collection and adjusting the plan before the journey began.
